Aimee van Wynsberghe has received the Dutch For Women In Science award. The award was extended by L’Oréal and Unesco, together with the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study (NIAS) and the Dutch Network of Women Professors (LNVH).

It recognises Van Wynsberghe’s research activities and her contributions to scientific discourse. The award consists of 25.000 euros and the opportunity to expand her research activities to the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIAS-KNAW).

Aimee van Wynsberghe’s mission is to put the ethical and responsible development, use and control of robots on the global agenda. As robots will increasingly be part of our daily lives, we will not only encounter them more often, but also collaborate with them. Van Wynsberghe’s research focuses on the importance of mapping social and ethical issues related to these new developments, and on the ethical implications of human-robot interaction.
